Pain can be controlled, you just disconnect it. - The Terminator
The pain "only goes down to a certain point" and then it stops - The Fountainhead
Watching John with the machine, it was suddenly so clear. The Terminator would never stop, it would never leave him. And it would never hurt him, never shout at him or get drunk and hit him or say it was too busy to spend time with him. It would always be there and it would die to protect him. Of all the would-be fathers who came and went over the years, this thing, this machine was the only one who measured up. In an insane world, it was the sanest choice. - The terminator II
as a species, human beings define their reality through misery and suffering - Agent Smith
I both agree and disagree with your comments policy. But not getting into it as i know you have your reasons for doing so - it's your blog! and nothing will change your mind. So am not getting into how and why i disagree.
But the reasons i agree with it for is fair game, and it comes from my innate distrust of online collectivism and the hive mind mentality that seems to be percolating into all levels nowadays. you know my distrust of the wikipedias of the world. in that context i would like to point your attention to this, an essay by Jaron Lanier (who in my opinion rocks!) and it's all about 'Digital Maoism' or rather the online collective. http://www.edge.org/3rd_culture/lanier06/lanier06_index.html

say...any particular reason Lincoln's quote is not attributed?
About your excerpts on pain.. I like the one my KB instructor Ashwin says. "Pain is weakness leaving the body".
The point of being an anonymous blog fails, when you reply to the comments, specially to the only post where anyone can comment !
